Synchronized Lumière Brothers

Something green, cinematic and melodic

Julie & Julia

I’m a new cook so this movie is totally an inspiring one for me. Ok, maybe too much fancy cooking session  as”Mastering the Art of French Cooking” but anyhow watching Meryl Streep and Amy Adams on screen is a bliss. And yes, this movie makes you hungry!

A Single Man

A film directed by Tom Ford, famous fashion designer. The art direction of the movie is worth to see. The colors are keeping fading and freshening according to the main character which makes you feel that you’re in a dream. Also with the colors you feel strongly what the main character, Prof George Falconer, feels. I can say Colin Firth is just perfect as Geroge Falconer. The sorrow inside him of losting his 16 years  lover is just unbreable for him and he can just get along with it. He is a total single man now in the 60’s of America.

“A few times in my life I’ve had moments of absolute clarity, when for a few brief seconds the silence drowns out the noise and I can feel rather than think, and things seem so sharp and the world seems so fresh. I can never make these moments last. I cling to them, but like everything, they fade. I have lived my life on these moments. They pull me back to the present, and I realize that everything is exactly the way it was meant to be ”

Le Petit Nicolas

I don’t agree to whose saying “this is a child movie”. Not at all!

French quote of my favorite scene

Marie Edwidge: Bon, ben salut

Petit Nicolas: Au revoir Mari Edwidge. J’ai passé un tres bon après midi avec toi, je te trouve tres jolie j’espere qu’on se reverra bientot…

Enfin je crois j’ai plutot dit

Petit Nicolas: aaa eee uuu eee aeuue (mumble) and our petit nicolas strike his shoulder to the door.

Eternity And A Day ( Mia aioniotita kai mia mera )

Why mother

nothing happens as we wish?

Why?

Why does one have to rot

in silence…

torn between pain and desire?

Why did I live my life in exile?

Why, when I felt at home…

only when I could speak my own language?

My language,

When I could find the lost words…

Or bring the forgotten words out of the silence.

Why only at that very moment

Could I hear the echo of my own footsteps in the house?

Why?

Tell me, mother,

why can’t one learn to love?
